My book Professor Pfeffers tierisches Abenteuer won the 2011 junior award of the German Academy of children’s and young people’s literature. Things have been so busy that I totally forgot to post about it. It’s exciting and a big honor. Above is an image of the Professor saying thanks. I’m still thrilled!

The new year started with one of my close friends turning 30. So I thought I would share her birthday card with you all as the first post in 2012. We had a great party with lots of surprises and I’m glad to have her in my life.
The end of last year was very busy, so I will try to get some of those projects and news on here soon.
A little while back I made a few chicken key chains. And then never posted about them. They are all slightly different, handmade and uniquely named. There are still a few left but only at the sweet little online shop of Mike Lowery’s argyleacademy. He also has some other awesome things to buy there. So I recommend to check it out.
Another illustration I did for the russian magazine Sekret Firmy. It’s their own version of the game candyland. You can find more of their illustrations and some awesome graphic design on their flickr page here: Sekret Firmy magazine.
Here is a close-up of some of the images. I also handlettered the type, which was funny, since I can’t read or write russian.
A few month back Professor Pfeffers tierisches Abenteuer was selected by Stiftung Buchkunst for die schönsten deutschen Bücher 2010 (the most beautiful german books 2010). There selection is always pretty awesome and so of course it made me verrrrry happy. All winning books will be shown in an exhibition at the Frankfurt Bookfair this year. So… you all should go.
